Deana R. Hopper

Deana Hopper, age 49, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away at the James Cancer Hospital in Columbus after several months of a valiant struggle with lung cancer. Born in Columbus and raised in St. Clairsville, OH, Deana was a graduate of Belmont Career Center. She was a long-time, valuable and dedicated employee with Kinetics Noise Control, Inc. Deana was preceded in death by her father Norman Hilling, Jr., her paternal grandparents Norman Hilling, Sr. and Pollie Hilling, her maternal grandparents Walter Kowalcyk and Mary Kowalcyk, her great-grandmother Rose Ludwig and many aunts and uncles including Norma Jean Hilling and Rose Marie Kowalcyk. Deana is survived by her sons Chase Hopper and Nick Hopper, her mother Barbara Hilling, her life-partner Gerry Yoder and his children: Gerry Yoder, Jr., Brittany Yoder, Vanessa Pelfrey-Yoder (Travis), Samantha Debevoise-Yoder (Cameron) and Emily Pineda-Yoder (Carlos), Gerry’s grandchildren: Aubree, Ayden and Miriam, her former spouse Thomas Hopper and his daughter Amber Hopper and grandchildren Kayleigh and Kedrick, her brother Greg (Elena) Hilling and their children Alexia and MaKenzie, her step-mother Cindy Hilling and many colleagues and friends. Deana was an avid sports fan of Ohio State and any team her sons played on. She possessed a wonderful personality and a beautiful smile. Deana was a dedicated mom and grandma and she was a fantastic cook who loved entertaining her entire family for the holidays. She left us all too soon. We will miss her greatly.
