Delphia L. Smith, born September 12, 1931 in Magoffin County, Salyersville, KY, died Tuesday, June 14, 2011 in the company of her loving husband of nearly 62 years, Charles L. Smith. Delphia was a warm hearted and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Preceded in death by sister Helen Blanton and brothers Ernie, Ishmael and Hartford Conley and son James Willie. Survived by children, Calvin (Jackie) Smith, Calvin’s former wife Ginger who still calls Charles and Delphia “Mom & Dad” their children Erin Schuler and Rick Smith, Erin’s children, Nicholas and Sidney and Rick’s children, Kimberley and Ryan;
Karen (Jack) Cordle and their children Angie, Melissa and Christa, Angie’s children, Kathy and Lacey, Melissa’s children, Ira Jr., Andrea, and Heaven, Christa’s children, Jacob, Chloe, Jamie, Jayden, and Cayden;
Darrell (Patty) Smith, Darrell’s former wife Jill and their children Kari and Melanie, Kari’s son, Noah and Melanie’s son, Fischer; Harold (Candy) Smith and their children, Brandon and Brittany, Brandon’s son, Delano, Brittany’s children, Keylee and Jimmy, Harold’s former wife, Laura and their daughter, Tiffany;
Charles Anthony (Chris) Smith and their children Tyler and Darby; Neil Smith,
Sisters Norsie Blanton and her children Jimmy, Betty Jane, Linda Kay, Elizabeth, Jerry, Jeffery and Mary, Dorothy Blanton and her children Lonnie, Larry, Leslie and Leonard, sister-in-law Hazel and children Rocky, Tony, Shelly, Rick, Nick and Sherry, Children of Helen Blanton, Robert, Pamela, Patty, Michael, Brenda and Elda. Delphia was an avid quilter and excellent cook. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends. A special thank you to Ginger for being there in a time of need. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 pm Thursday at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where funeral service will be held 11 am Friday. Interment Big Darby Cemetery.
