Don Ebner

Don Charles Ebner, age 88, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Kobacker House Hospice. Born March 21, 1929 in Columbus, OH to the late Charles and Elizabeth Ebner. He attended Columbus Boys Choir School and Staunton Military Academy. Graduate of Bexley High School and attended The Ohio State University where he participated in Pershing Rifles. In 1950 he married the love of his life, Nancy Burghduff. He was stationed in Spangdahlem, Germany in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. After returning, he worked and retired from Celanese (Yardley Plastics). He enjoyed canoeing in Canada, playing the organ, and spending time with his grandchildren. Preceded in death by wife of 67 years, Nancy Ebner. Survived by daughters, Sandy (Dave) Callear and Linda Ebner and extended family member Kathy Buhr; grandchildren Dana (Danielle) Callear and Shari (Steve) Younger; sister, Barbara (James) Lutz and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be Monday, October 23, 2017 from 11:30 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12 noon at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St. in Hilliard, OH. Entombment will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, OH. In lieu of flowers, family encourages memorial contributions to the American Heart Association, 5455 N. High St., Columbus, OH 43214 or at heart.org.
