Donald "Don" Bitler

Don Bitler, 61 of Hilliard, OH passed away at his home on July 1, 2017.He was born in Fremont, OH, graduated from Oak Fort High School in Tiffin, OH. He served as a pathfinder with the National Guard 1979-82. He was employed with Honda of Marysville for 15 years. He was a Captain and sailed a 36 foot Columbia Sailboat (Destiny) on Lake Erie in the 90's. He sought adventure traveling with friends or solo to Europe, Asia and Mexico. Don was a dreamer and a spiritual warrior. He loved literature and the arts. In 2000 he was a published author for a popular boating magazine. He will be remembered for his extreme honesty, his contagious laugh, and for the degree to which he would go to help others. He leaves behind a sister, Cathie Lee Desjean (Bob) of Lighthouse Pt., FL; a brother, Dennis Weiler (Ann) of Fremont, OH; a sister, Peggy Newland (Tim) of Columbus, OH and many friends. Arrangements are pending.
