Donald Winfield Hanby

Donald Winfield Hanby, age 92, of Plain City, OH, passed away Friday, December 2, 2016. Active member of Hilliard United Methodist Church for 60 years. U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. Graduate of West High School Class of 1941 and The Ohio State University Class of 1949. He was a longtime volunteer at the Chadwick Arboretum and a master gardener. He was an honorary member of Pi Alpha Xi (PAX) Horticultural Society; a member of the Hilliard Charter Commissions II & III; former secretary of the Hilliard Civil Service Commission and a member of over 60 years of Westgate Masonic Lodge F&AM. Preceded in death by parents, Donald C. Hanby and Laura (Scott) Arnold; brother, Charles William and sister, Elizabeth Burtschin. Survived by loving wife of 70 years, Ann; children, Camille (David) Crago; son, Rex W. Hanby of NC; grandchildren, Clint (Christine) Crago of MT, Mark (Jennifer) Crago of MT, Abbie (Austin) Morgan of CO; great grandchildren, Gage and Bexley Crago, Alyssa and Ashley Crago, and Max, Garrett, Graham and Brooke Morgan; numerous loving relatives, neighbors and church family. Friends may call Tuesday, December 6, 2016 from 10 am to 12 noon at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St. in Hilliard. Funeral service will follow at 1:30 pm at the Hilliard United Methodist Church, 5445 Scioto Darby Rd. in Hilliard. Pastor April Blaine officiating. Interment to follow at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, OH.
