Donald B. Lucas, M.D., Hilliard, born 03/30/1916, Cloverdale, Ohio, passed away Monday, January 28, 2008 at home. Preceded in death by parents, Ivan and Austa (Hale) Lucas, siblings and spouses, Virgil, Robert (Ruth), Louis (in infancy) and Juanita (Paul) Ewing and stepson, Frederick DeFrancisco. Beloved husband to Louise C. Lucas. Also survived by daughter Susan (Michael) Royer and grandson, Bradley; stepdaughter, Linda Taylor and step-granddaughter, Melissa Jacobs; brother-in-law George (Nancy) Lotti, and many caring relatives and friends. Member Johnstown United Methodist Church, Johnstown, Ohio. Graduate of Cloverdale and Continental High Schools. B.A. and M.D. from The Ohio State University, 1942; U.S. Navy Lieutenant in Medical Corps, WWII; medical practice Columbus Grove; Physician, Medical Director and Superintendent, Columbus State Institute; Superintendent and Medical Director, Mt. Vernon State Institute; Medical Consultant, Knox County Family Planning Service; Physician numerous nursing homes, Centerburg. Farmed in Croton, Ohio. Retired 1978. Member Rufus Putnam Masonic F & AM 0634, Columbus Grove; Theta Kappa Psi Medical Fraternity, OSU Stadium Dorm Club, WWII Navy Vets LCI 732; Putnam County Medical Association, OSMA and AMA; Medical Staff Lima and Mt. Vernon hospitals. Family will receive friends 4-8 pm Friday at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME WITH CREMATORY, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard; where a Masonic service will be held 7:30 pm Friday. Funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday with visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home with Rev. Bob Sholis officiating. Inurnment in Cloverdale, OH.
