Donald Ranke

Donald E. Ranke, age 78 of Orient, slipped away to heaven Sunday, January 12, 2014 at his residence. He was born Feb. 2, 1935 in Franklin County, Ohio to the late Marion and Marguerite Ranke.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jane; son Donald W.; grandchildren Schylar and Slade; sisters Norma J. Dumm of Circleville, Joy L. McClure of Grove City; nieces & nephews; close friend, Margaret Ranke.
Donald retired from Marble Cliff Concrete Products of Columbus and enjoyed farming since 1984 to present. His hobbies were rabbit and coon hunting. In 1970 he won top honor with his female Treeing Walker Dog “Millie” at the World Championship Coon Hunt.
A Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. Rev. Leland Brehm officiating with the interment following in Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 14th from 4 – 8 p.m.
