Donald Rings

Donald L. Rings, age 93, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015 at his residence. He was a graduate of Hilliard High School, Class of 1939. Donald was a lifelong area farmer, and was a member of the Farm Bureau; he achieved State and American Farmer Degrees from FFA. He was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church, and enjoyed playing softball and dartball. Preceded in death by parents, Walter and Effie Rings; brother, Melvin; son-in-law, Robert Alton. Survived by wife of almost 73 years, Marjorie; children, Suzanne Alton, D. Michael (Marylou) Rings and Carolyn (Frank) Kinder; grandchildren, Robert and Tim Alton, Jenifer Bratchie and David Kinder, Carrie Bassett, Laura Knape, Katie Rings, Lindsey Rings and Daniel Rings; 8 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Florence Rings; brother-in-law, Richard (Marion) Rarey; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Friends may call Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME 5265 Norwich St. in Hilliard, OH. Additional calling will be Wednesday, March 18, from 10 until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 6135 Rings Rd. in Dublin, OH. Reverend John Greig officiating. Interment Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. John Memorial Fund.
