Dorothy Lorraine (Pomerinke) Simpson-Logsdon went to be with her Lord on Thursday evening, February 27, 2014 at the age of 91. She was born February 6, 1923 in Jamestown, North Dakota to the late John and Susan Pomerinke. She grew up in the states of Idaho and Washington; and moved to Ohio in 1988 after she retired. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 27 years, Joseph "Carl" Simpson and husband of 4 months, Francis "Loggy" Logsdon; brother, Ernie Pomerinke; brothers-in-law, Dale Noe, Duke Gallipo and Sim Reichert. Survived by daughter, Sandy (Tim) Farner of Columbus, OH; she was "Grandma Loggy" to her 3 grandsons, Jeffrey (Brenda), Jonathan (Linda) and Jay (Lisa) Farner, all of Columbus; She was "Loggy" to 4 great grandsons, Nathan (15), Zachary (13), Ashton (10) and Aidan (3); she was "Lollie" to her one-year-old great granddaughter, Arrow Terese; she was "Duck" to her surviving sisters, Isy Noe, Irene Gallipo, Elaine Reichert, Helen (Rolland) Baze and sister-in-law, Naomi Pomerinke; she was "Aunt Duck" to her 10 nieces and nephews and their families; she was "Dorothy" to her friends at St. George on the Commons in Columbus where she lived for about 20 years. Dorothy was known for her strength of character, her sense of humor and despite her reserved personality, she was always willing to "speak her mind" when she had "had enough." Her Lord knew that she had "had enough" of the pain and suffering and on Thursday evening He closed her eyes and took her to be with Him. A private memorial service will take place at a later date.
