Dorothy Jean (Smith) Slyh, of Grove City, formerly of Hilliard, age 78, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Monday, August 15, 2016.Graduate of Hilliard High school class of 1955. She worked for attorneys Kemp-Shaeffer and Rowe for 10 years. Retired from Franklin County Court of Appeals after 12 years of service. Preceded in death by parents Melvin and Esther Smith, brother Richard Smith and son Dean Edward Slyh. Survived by loving husband of 60 years and 3 days Paul, daughter Terry L. (Steve) Whitehead of Hilliard, grandsons Brandon (Stephanie) Whitehead of Orient and Trey Whitehead of Hilliard, great grandsons Mason and Asher Whitehead of Orient, brother Melvin (Charlotte) Smith, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Family will receive friends Thursday 4-8 pm at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where funeral service will be held 11 am Friday with her nephew Rev. Kevin Slyh officiating. Interment Big Darby Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Big Darby Baptist Church, 6921 NE Plain City-Georgesville Rd, Plain City, OH 43064.
