Douglas Cavanaugh

Douglas James Cavanaugh, age 56, of Hilliard, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2009. He was employed with The Columbus Dispatch for 25 years in the Marketing Department. Throughout his life, Doug was a loving husband, father, son and friend. His family and his home were a source of pride to him and he delighted in sharing stories about them with his many friends. He was an avid gardner and nature lover, happiest when in the midst of a project in his yard or home. Preceded in death by father James Cavanaugh. Survived by mother, Iva-Jean Cavanaugh; loving wife of 28 years, Kate; daughter, Beth (Ryan Brown) Cavanaugh; sisters, Elaine Turner of Mansfield, Oh. and Pat Cavanaugh (Bob Grant) of Brunswick, Maine; and numerous loving relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held Monday 6 p.m. at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, Oh. 43026. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the local Salvation Army, 966 East Main St., Columbus, Oh. 43205.
