Douglas R. Hoover, Sr.

Douglas R. Hoover, Sr., age 79, of Hilliard, OH, passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2018. Born in Portsmouth, OH to the late Albert and Vivian Hoover, Doug was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He retired from Rail Products International (formerly National Electric Coil) after 43 years of service. In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his son Mark Hoover. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Lorene L. Hoover, son and daughter-in-law Doug and Cathy of Hilliard, daughter Teri of Hilliard, grandchildren Adam, Josh, Conner and Megan, siblings Betty (Ted) Coleman, Geri (Fred) Miller, Barb Nelson, Tony (Donna) Hoover, Kirk (Debbie) Hoover, Judy (Junior) Beckelheimer, Chuck Hoover, and their families. Family will receive friends from 10:00-11:30a.m. TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 2018 at RESURRECTION EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 3500 Main Street, Hilliard, OH 43026 where Funeral Services will follow the visitation and begin at 11:30a.m. TUESDAY with Pastor Karen Ausmus-Alsnauer, officiating. Burial, with Military Honors, will be held at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, OH. The family will return to church for a luncheon after the burial services.
