Duane Gammell

Duane E. Gammell, age 53, of Grove City, went to be with the Lord on June 20, 2008. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. Graduate of South High School, class of 1974.He was employed through the Greater Columbus Convention Center, a member of The Westside Free Will Baptist Church, and the 4S Club. Duane was an avid OSU fan and a “dedicated” Democrat. Preceded in death by his father, James A. Gammell. Survived by loving wife, Kit; children, Holly (Dave) Wood, Heather (Twan), JJ, and Courtney; grandchildren, Ciara ”Cici” and Antwan “Baby AJ”; mother, Kathryn Gammell; mothers and fathers-in-law, Dave (Linda) Davies, John (Maryanna) Oien of Toledo; brothers, Darrell (Denise), Dwight (Patti), and Darren (Jodi); special cousins; Patty Diamond, Brenda Smith and Rick Blackburn; sisters-in-law, Kelly (Tony) Borer and Kris Smith; grandmother, Mary Sheets; many nieces , nephews, aunts, uncles, relatives and friends. Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8pm at The Westside Free Will Baptist Church 3261 Fisher Rd. Columbus, OH 43204 with an 8pm Prayer Circle led by Rev. Jeff Copley. A funeral service will be held at the church Wednesday at 11am with Pastor Tim Boyd officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment Alton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Gammell Fund c/o any Fifth Third Bank.
