Earl Harris

Harris, Earl J (Duke), age 85, passed away on Friday, October 9th, 2009 at Mount Carmel West Hospital. Resident of Mount Sterling, Ohio. He was born August 24, 1924 to the late Alexander and Nellie Mae Cotton Harris. Preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Lorabelle (Harold Jr) Scott, Patricia Ann, and Wilma Jean and brothers Donald Elliot, Roland Jerome, and John Edwin. He is survived by his wife, Alice Jean (Jackson) and his children Theresa Jane Trent Brown of Gary, Indiana; Monta Arlene Trent (Calvin Parker) of Columbus, Ohio; Beverly Jean Trent of Columbus, Ohio; Earl Steven (Cherise) Harris of Columbus, Ohio, and Lisa Rene (Brian Sheline) of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; grandchildren, Ronald Brown, Michael Brown, Jeromaine Brown, Tru Trent, Michael Devon Harris, Jonathan Tyler Sheline and Elizabeth Nicole Sheline, and four great-grandchildren. Also survived by his aunt Dolly Cotton of Beaver, Ohio, niece, Pam Norton of Columbus, Ohio, and special cousin Patricia Ann (Stephen) Fenner of Indianapolis, Indiana. Friends may call Friday from 4-8pm at THE PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME 331 W. Main St. Mount Sterling, OH 43143 where a funeral service will be held 10am Saturday. There will be an additional hour of visitation at 1pm Saturday at The Liberty Valley AME Church 5760 Carr’s Run Rd. Beaver, OH 45613. Interment Carr’s Run Rd., Beaver, OH.
