Edward L. Patterson

Edward L. Patterson died peacefully in his sleep September 13th 2024.

 Ed was born December 3, 1935, in Washington, PA to Hugh and Sara Patterson. As 1 of 10 children he was never without a playmate. 

 He attended Madison Consolidated High School in Guernsey county, OH. He graduated in 1954 and won the Guernsey county basketball championship in 1953. 

 Ed served his country in the Army, stationed at White Sands Missile Base in NM. After returning from service, Ed began his career with Big Bear grocery and Harts family stores. With an early retirement, Ed pursued his favorite passion in owning, training, and riding standard bred race horses. Patterson Stables was known at Scioto Downs and all county fairs across Ohio. 

 Edward is survived by his wife Ruby, sisters Peg McQuain and Louise Severance, and his brother John. His children are a son Randy and a daughter Lisa (Tim) Farber. Step daughters Diane Muldrew and Michele Bard and stepson Brian (Kristen) Deskins. Grandchildren Drew, Lauren Farber and Aaron Deskins. 

One great grandchild Roman Deskins and many more in our one big blended family.

 Ed was proceeded in death by his parents, 6 siblings, 2 late wives JoAnn Patterson and April Patterson as well as a stepson Brian Muldrew and a grandson Brandon Deskins.

 Ed was an avid sports fan. He loved the Guardians, Browns, and OSU football and basketball. He enjoyed golfing and his favorite spot Myrtle Beach. He was a member of Hilliard Presbyterian Church and a brother in the Masonic family No. 221. 

 Services are handled by TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 NORWICH STREET, HILLIARD, OHIO, 43026. Calling hours  will be held MONDAY, September 16, 2024, from 5-7pm, and Memorial Service will be held at the Funeral Home, TUESDAY, September 17, 2024, at 12pm with burial immediately following at Sunset Cemetery.
