Edward W. Roland Jr.

September 4, 1957 — February 8, 2025

Edward "Ed" W. Roland Jr., age 67 of Albrightsville, PA passed away Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Hospice Inpatient Unit in Allentown, PA.

Ed was born in Pittsburgh, PA on September 4, 1957, son of Edward W. Roland Sr. and Annette (Bello) Roland of Pittsburgh, PA.

He was the loving husband of the late Paula (Leffel) Roland who preceded him in death on December 18, 2017.

Ed received his BS in Business Marketing from Penn State University and was a member of Delta Kappa Phi and the Siamese Elephants.

Ed so much enjoyed all aspects of life and being his best. In his earlier years, he was a standout baseball pitcher at Serra Catholic High School. Thereafter, he went on to Penn State where he made lifelong friends.

His work ethic was very strong as he built his career in food distribution and the supermarket industry. He had worked as the Vice President of Procurement for Wakefern Food Corp in NJ. He had also worked for Kroger, Spicko Market and Supervalu all in Ohio.

His eventual home was the Poconos where he passionately cared for his property. His home was where his heart was. If you knew him, you knew his style was impeccable and the scent of his favorite cologne. He was a foodie at heart, truly enjoying all aspects of life. You could catch him socializing at happy hour with a Rolling Rock or at his favorite restaurants with a nice bottle of wine. He made cherished memories with family and friends while travelling around the globe. His energy was contagious and was able to affect all around him. Everyone was in the moment when they were with Eddie. His loving angel Paula looked over him always and his angel on earth Ellen and him shared so many beautiful memories. He absolutely adored his family. He loved his parents and siblings and always felt so blessed to have a special family like his. He always wanted to be known by all his nieces and nephews as 'Uncle Eddie'. His greatest accomplishment was his son Nick and the family that Nick and his wife, Tara started. He could not be prouder of them. It was his role as Pap Pap that brought him the most joy. He so enjoyed his theme weekends in the Poconos with the supermarket boys and his beautiful Reagan. Eds life, though too short, was filled with moments of happiness, challenges overcome, dreams fulfilled, and most importantly, lives that he changed for the better. He always exemplified courage, strength and dignity throughout his life. He always would end with GAME ON!!

We have been blessed with the presence of Edward in our lives. He will be deeply missed by his parents: Edward and Annette Roland of Pittsburgh, PA, his son: Nicholas Roland and spouse Tara of Hudson, OH.

He was the loving grandfather to Benjamin, Maxwell and Reagan Roland of Hudson, OH who lovingly called him Pap Pap.

Ed is also survived by four siblings: Michael Roland and spouse Connie of North Huntingdon, PA, John Roland and spouse Joni of Madeira Beach, FL, Tom Roland and spouse Jendi of Port Orange, FL and Kelly Thompson of spouse Prentice of Strongsville, OH and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcome to offer condolences on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Gower Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 1426 Route 209, Gilbert, PA 18331.

Additional viewing will be held Thursday, February 13, 2025 from 12 pm until 1 pm at Tidd Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich Street, in Hilliard, OH with services beginning at 1:00 pm.

Ed will be laid to rest next to his loving wife at the Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Hilliard, OH.
