Elaine Marie Cooper

Elaine Marie Cooper (Vince), born December 5, 1944 in Springfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her immediate family. Elaine was the oldest child of Russell and Betty Vince as well as Regina Vince. Elaine was a Registered Nurse who taught childbirth classes, worked with the developmentally disabled and in pediatrics. She enjoyed people, the arts, literature, and new experiences. She always saw the best in people. Her perspective was always positive. She didn't hesitate to share her optimism and love of life. 

Elaine was a much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter and mother-in-law law. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Ann Neu (Cooper), son, Steven Cooper, daughter, Susan Cooper-Thorud, son,  G. Douglas Cooper, granddaughter, Michaela (Ethan) Rapp, grandson, Alexander Thorud, granddaughter, Rianna Thorud, great-granddaughter, Joanna Rapp, brothers and sisters, including Russell (Bonnie) Vince and Michael (Melody) Vince, Anita Vince, Edward Vince, Marilyn Vince, Thomas Vince, and Carol Ruppert and many nieces and nephews, including Lilly Vince, Max Vince, Mark (Tammy) Allen, David Allen, Donald Allen, Melanie Allen, Lora Lei Allen, Tom (Jackie) Pelfrey, Tracy Pelfrey, Terry (Christine) Pelfrey, Toby Pelfrey, Tawnya Pelfrey, Tangee Pelfrey, Tom (Tonya) Pelfrey, Trent Pelfrey, Amy Bowen, and Brian (Jessica) Pelfrey as well a many good friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, James T. Cooper, her father, Russell Vince, Betty Vince, step-mother, Regina Vince, and son-in-law, Art Neu and great nephew Brandon Pelfrey. Family will receive friends from 3:00pm to 6:00pm Friday, January 12, 2024 at the Tidd Family Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, Ohio. A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date.
