On Wednesday, March 15, 2017, Elaine D. (Daugherty) Schreibeis, of Dublin, Ohio, lost her second battle to cancer. She was the beloved wife of G. Daniel Schreibeis; mother to Dennis Schreibeis and wife Jennifer Giroux of Birmingham, Michigan; Amy and husband Kirk Lindsey of Columbus, Ohio; and Sara and husband Kelly Norton of Dublin, Ohio; much loved Grandmother to Claire, George and Nathan Schreibeis and Brennan and Brigid Norton; preceded in death by parents and sister Susan Steinkamp; brothers-in-law Jerry Schreibeis and Joseph Schreibeis; and survived by sister Mary Kay Roth and many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. Elaine was born in Pittsburgh, PA, attended Peabody High School and was the first in her family to attend college at Clarion State College. Elaine spent her life teaching elementary school and, after creating a loving home that her husband and children and grandchildren always loved to come home to, she continued to share her love of learning and reading with the students of Teresa Dowd’s Homeless Family Foundation (HFF) in Columbus, Ohio. After retiring from HFF, Elaine enjoyed reading, birdwatching, taking long baths (she also enjoyed this before retiring), traveling with Dan, but most of all spending time with her children and five grandchildren (whom she spoiled and rarely, if ever, said no to.) Hendricks will celebrate the Mass. Private family burial will be observed at a later date at Calvary Cemetery, Pittsburgh, PA.
