Eleanor R. Andrews

Eleanor R. Andrews, age 91, of Dublin, OH, a former long-time resident of Grand Haven, MI, was welcomed to Heaven and restored in whole on Sunday, April 28, 2019. Born to the late Bert and Gertrude Carrier, she was a graduate of Grand Haven High School, Class of 1945 and attained her Masters, Banking Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Eleanor began her banking career as a 17-year old teller through her high school co-op program and was hired by what is now Old Kent Bank. She retired 47 years later as the bank’s Vice-President. Eleanor installed the bank’s first computer and the first ATM machine. She was Grand Haven’s Woman of the Year in 1984. While living in Grand Haven, Eleanor was a member of Spring Lake Baptist Church in Spring Lake, MI. She moved to Dublin, OH in 1993 to be near her daughter and family. As a resident of Dublin, Eleanor was a faithful member and usher of Dublin Baptist Church and was active in the ESL Ministry, Executive Council, Church Teller, Bible School and Wednesday Meal Program ministries. Church was her life and her family. In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her beloved husband Donald F. Andrews who passed in 1985, step-sisters Maxine and Arlene, sister Shirley White, her dear, close brother Gordon Carrier-a Warrior of God- and her beloved dog Peter who died last year. She is survived by her children Stephen (Brigitte) Schmitt of New Ulm, MN and Sarah (Michael) Corriveau of Dublin, OH; her wonderful grandchildren: Joshua (Stacy) Schmitt of Minneapolis, MN, Jenna (Jeff Nelson) Suess of New Ulm, MN, Jacob Schmitt of Courtland, MN, Matthew (Kristin) Corriveau of Ft. Thomas, KY, Mark Corriveau of Madison, WI and Anne (Kyle) Berry of Somerset, KY; her 7 adored great-grandchildren “Squeeze those Grandbabies tight for me!”, her sister-in-law Iva Carrier of Lakeland, FL, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Family will receive friends from 10:00a.m.-12:00p.m. SATURDAY, MAY 4, 2019 at DUBLIN BAPTIST CHURCH, 7195 Coffman Road, Dublin, OH 43017 where her Funeral Service will follow the visitation and begin at 12:00p.m. SATURDAY. Private family burial will be held later at Lake Forest Cemetery, Grand Haven, MI.
