Elizabeth Mills

Elizabeth Ann “Liz” Mills, born February 19th 1958 in Portsmouth, VA, passed peacefully with her family by her side on the evening of January 30th, 2016 at The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center after a brief illness at the age of 57. She married her best friend and soulmate Steven R. Mills and was mother to her sons Christopher and Jonathan. Preceded in death by her mother, Betsy Fillhart (Hillyer) and brother R.A. Fillhart. She is survived by her father David Fillhart and siblings Michael Fillhart (Debbie), Kathie Van Hoose (Roger) and Melissa Cao (Cou). Preceded in death by her niece Robyn and survived by nieces Rebecca, Maria and nephews David, Corey, Drake, Alex and Matthew. A graduate of Whetstone High School in Columbus, Liz was a wonderful homemaker, wife and mother. Liz held many positions off and on while working for Chicago Title Insurance Company over a 25 year range. She had an affinity for rescue dogs and was lucky enough to be graced with many wonderful pets during her life. Liz enjoyed traveling, especially to Fort Myers Beach, Florida. Most importantly, Liz enjoyed being a wife and mother. The most fun she had was raising her two children with her husband. Two of the proudest moments in her life was to witness the graduation of both sons from Ohio University. She was most happy when she was sitting on her back deck, preparing fresh corn-on-the-cob, grilling steak and watching, along with her husband, her kids and dog play in their backyard. Viewing hours will be held 6-8pm Friday February 5th at Tidd Funeral Home located at 5265 Norwich St. Hilliard, OH 43026. A celebration of life service will be held 2pm Saturday February 6th at Tidd Funeral Home. A gathering of friends and family will occur after the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks to have a donation made to CHA Animal Shelter (http://www.chaanimalshelter.org/). The family wishes to extend their deepest and sincere appreciation to the entire staff at The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center for their tremendous care and compassion.
