Ellis (Ed) Anderson was born November 20th, 1925 in Akron, Ohio. His journey ended on February 10th, 2019 surrounded by his family and friends with love.  He is preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Leona Anderson; Sister Madeline Snyder; Brother Larry: and nephew Tom Snyder. He is survived by his wife Bonnie (Earnest); Daughters Chrissy (Tim) Ward, Deb (Larry Canzonetta) Antram, and Beck Antram. As well as 2 grandchildren, Dustin (Morgan) Schaaf, Ellie Ward and great grandson Desmond. Also survived by his Nephews Jim (Nuet) Anderson, Greg (Robin) Snyder, Mark (Dorothy) Snyder, David (Peggy) Snyder and Niece Madayln (Dave) Overton. Ed served in World War II from March 1944 through April 1946. He was decorated with EAME Theater Ribbon with 3 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, Purple Heart, and Victory Medal World War II. He was a rifleman who assisted with the capture of enemy positions by placing direct fire upon designated targets with a rifle. Made reconnaissance patrols behind enemy lines to obtain information related to enemy strength and disposition of troops. After the military he went on to work at Amster Kirtz starting from a warehouse worker to eventually becoming CEO & Owner. After retiring Ed enjoyed spending his days with his family including his beloved Miniature Schnauzer Coco. Along with watching the Ohio State Buckeyes, he was an avid NFL fan and “The Champion of The Universe” at Euchre. Viewing will be held at 10 AM-12 PM with the funeral services starting immediately after on Thursday, February 14th, 2019 at TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026. A luncheon will immediately follow the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to Grace Hospice of Columbus or the Humane Society of Madison County.
