Elmo Benson Ransom

Elmo Benson Ransom, age 88, of Hilliard, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2009 at Riverside Hospital. Army Veteran of WWII. Member of Riverside United Methodist Church.Assistant Scout Master who mentored both his sons to Eagle status. Graduate of the University of Michigan where he received his Masters degree in Civil Engineering, Class of 1952. Retired in 1988 from The State of Ohio; where he was the Director of the Ohio Water Development Authority. Preceded in death by father Roy S. Ransom, mother Olive Shimmel Ransom, and brother Marian Ransom. Survived by loving wife of 62 years Marion, daughters Linda (Tom) Schuenke, Marilyn (Rob Wall) Ransom and Carol Ransom, sons Paul Ransom and Mark (Nathalie) Ransom, grandchildren Matthew, Nathan, and Kelsey Schuenke, Colleen Holton and Victoria, Ryan, Jenna, and Diana Ransom, sister Doris Eadie, and brother Orrin Ransom. A Celebration of Life service will be held 4 pm Saturday, June 13, 2009 at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 1950 Arlingate Lane, Columbus, OH 43228.
