Emilie Kirkwood

Emilie Moore Kirkwood, age 88, of Hilliard, entered Heaven on Friday, February 10, 2012. Emilie worked during her college years at a small weapons defense plant. She graduated from Wittenburg College in 1945 with a Bachelor’s degree in music education. After the war, she met her husband John and they married in 1947. She taught music and played piano throughout her life. She loved to fish and spent many hours on the water. She was beloved by many and had countless friends. She was a member of Scioto Ridge United Methodist Church and Northwest Area Christian Singles. Preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley Kirkwood and parents, Rev. Chalmer Moore and Miriam Baker Moore. Survived by her children, Scott (Catherine) Kirkwood and Keith (Sandy) Kirkwood; sister, Rose Leech of Beach City, OH; grandchildren, Jason, Kimberly (Dan), Jonathan, Kelly, and Cassandra; great-grandchildren, Jude and Lola; as well as her Wellington Village Family. A Memorial Service will take place at 2 PM on Sunday, February 19 at Scioto Ridge United Methodist Church 4343 Dublin Rd. Hilliard, OH 43026.
