Eric Dodson

Eric Wayne Dodson (age 46), of Hilliard, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024. He was a loving father, brother and friend and will be missed by many! Eric had a contagious laugh that would soften even the hardest of hearts. He loved with his whole heart and had a way of “telling it to you straight.” But most importantly, Eric was a wonderful father to his beloved little girls, Nina (age 14) and Lucija (age 10). Eric spent as much time as possible with his girls. He and Lulu loved to go fishing. And he never wanted to miss Nina’s lacrosse games. He loved his daughters beyond measure. Even in his roughest times, he found a way to be with his girls. 

Eric was the youngest of the Dodson brothers. The four Dodson brothers were a team, notorious for their wrestling capabilities and brotherhood. Rick, Chris and Troy would want people to remember the simplicity and wholeness of their little brother. Eric was the baby and they all fiercely protected and cared for him. Eric was also loved by his nieces and nephews. Always the practical joker, fishing buddy, or “crazy Uncle.” They would want you to know and remember how Eric found joy in the simple things, like a good fishing hole, a nice homemade meal, or just sitting and reminiscing with family. 

Eric was also a good and loyal friend. He maintained lifelong friendships with his Darby Estate childhood friends. He will be missed by many.

Eric was a talented craftsman. He previously owned ENC Granite & Marble. He loved construction work and enjoyed remodeling homes with his brothers.

Eric is preceded in death by his mother, Janet Yvonne Dodson (Thompson), his father, Richard L. Dodson, Sr., his grandmother, Betty Diebel (Dodson), and many other beloved family members and friends.

Eric will be forever loved by his daughters Nina Dodson (age 14), Lucija Dodson (age 10) and their mother, Angela Dodson (Badurina). He is also survived by his brothers: Rick Dodson (Kate), Troy Dodson (Amanda), and Chris Dodson (Heidi) and his nieces (Madeline, Emma, Ava and Lizzie) and nephews (Cole & Luke). 

The Dodson family invites you to attend his calling hours on Thursday, August 8th from 5pm-7pm and Friday, August 9th at 10am-11am at the Tidd Funeral Home in Hilliard. His funeral service will be held at Tidd Funeral Home on Friday, August 9th at 11am with interment to follow at Kingwood Memorial Park.
