Eric Reed

Eric James Reed, 31, passed away the morning of Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Doctor’s Hospital in Columbus, OH from complications due to a blood clot. Eric was born in Columbus, OH on October 15, 1982. The son of James R Reed and Diane Reed, Eric graduated from Westland High School in 2001 and later received a biblical studies education from the Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake, NY. Following his education, Eric spent a year spreading the love of God through music and volunteer work as a member of the Word of Life Impact Team, where he had the opportunity to travel to Portugal. Later, Eric returned to Schroon Lake, NY and trained as a chef in Word of Life’s Culinary Apprenticeship Program. Following his culinary education, Eric remained a chef in his professional life.

Eric is survived by his mother Diane Reed, his sister Jennifer Hill, brother-in-law Phillip Hill, sister Elizabeth Reed, brother Nathaniel Reed and sister-in-law Kim DeLatte. Eric also had two young nieces that were more than precious to him, Isabella and Charlotte Hill.

Eric was preceded in death by his father James Reed, who greeted his eldest son with a loving hug and a fishing pole at the gates of Heaven. They are currently sitting on the bank of Heaven’s lake, waiting for a fish to bite.

A memorial service celebrating Eric’s life will be held at Northwest Chapel at 6700 Rings Road, Dublin, OH 43016 on Saturday, April 5^th. The family will be receiving friends and loved ones from 10a-11:30 with a message following.
