MASON Esther J. Mason, 61 of Mt. Sterling passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at the OSU Medical Center, Columbus. She was born Feb. 15, 1948 in London, Ohio.
She was a Bookkeeper in the Madison County Clerk of Courts; 1966 graduate of Plains High School in Mt. Sterling; she loved to travel, especially enjoying her trips to the Grand Canyon; and researching family genealogy.
She is survived by husband of 41 years, Elmer Mason; sons, Darrin (Roxanne) Mason of London, Wesley (Ruthie) Mason of Woodland, Alabama; grandchildren, Ali Mason, London and Christopher Maddux of AL.; soon to be great granddaughter, Chloe Mason; Parents, Edson and Martha (Johnson) Myers of Mt. Sterling; brother, Rev. Ed (Linda) Myers of Wheelersburg, Ohio; sisters, Virginia Morgan of Dayton, Ruth (Dan) Sapp of Lawrenceville, GA.; numerous nieces & nephews, family, and a host of special friends.
A Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the Mt. Sterling First Church of the Nazarene, 226 N. Market Street. The family will receive friends one hour prior to time of service. Rev. Ed Myers officiating.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place with the burial of her ashes being at a later date.
The family was served by the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME in Mt. Sterling.
