Esther Smith

Esther Smith, age 91, of Port Clinton, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012. She was a Rosie the Riveter and a former and dedicated employee at White Castle in Columbus. Preceded in death by husband Melvin R. Smith, son Joseph Richard, grandson Dean Slyh, brother Leroy Evans, sisters Alice McCulley and Naomi Russell, parents Edmund and Agness Evans. Survived by daughter and son-in-law Dorothy and Paul Slyh of Grove City, son and daughter-in-law Melvin L. and Charlotte Smith of Powell, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. The family would like give a special thank you to the staff at Senior Independent Hospice. Family will receive friends 5-7 pm Wednesday at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where funeral service will be held 11 am Thursday with Pastor Kevin Slyh officiating. Interment Big Darby Cemetery.
