Ethel Krischak

Ethel Marie Krischak, age 89, of Newark, OH, died February 7, 2014 at the Morrison House in Zanesville, Ohio. She passed peacefully surrounded by family members and loved ones. Ethel was born April 7, 1924 in Junction City, Ohio to John and Mary Paxton . On April 30, 1949. She married the love of her life, James Joseph Krischak. They later settled in Hilliard, Ohio where Ethel lived till 2000, before moving to Newark to be close to her sisters and after her husband’s passing. She was an avid Euchre player, who rarely passed up a game and even less frequently lost one. Ethel was a devoted Catholic and parishioner of St. Brendans for over 40 years and later St. Francis. Even after her health began to fail, she still viewed the television mass and received communion every Sunday. Ethel is was preceded in death by her husband in 1986, sister Helen Jinks, brothers Merle and Bill Paxton. Survived by her sister Mary Ann McClintock, brother Don (Macille) Paxton, children Diana Ali, James R. Krischak, Rosemary Curtiss and David Krischak, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Family will receive friends 9:30-1030 am Monday at St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church, 4475 Dublin Rd., Hilliard, OH 43026; where a mass will follow at 10:30 am Monday. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church or St. Francis Church in Newark. The family would like to thank the employees of Morrison House for their caring and kindness. Also, a special thank you to Sue who provided her with communion and companionship during her latter days. Ethel will be greatly missed by all she loved and all who loved her.
