Eugene R. Sonnenberg, died April 24, 2007. Born December 10, 1928. Graduated from North High School in 1947. Enlisted in the Navy in 1948, Radarman 2nd class on the Destroyer, William C. Lawe, discharged in 1952. Korean Veteran with Navy Occupation Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal. Owner of Sonnenberg Laboratory 1967 to 1986. Member of Dental Laboratory Guild. Charter Member of the Clintonville Art Guild. Artist of pet and children portraiture in oils, pastels, watercolor, pen and pencil. Founder of Central Ohio Sidecar Club. Avid bird watcher, Supernumerary with Opera Columbus, Whetstone Park of Roses volunteer, Rose Garden caretaker of Ameriflora in 1992. A model with Wright Modeling and Creative Talent Agency. Member of NARFE Chapter 235, American Legion Post 614, Moose Lodge #11, and the Gypsies Travel Club. He enjoyed CATCO and LTOB. Survived by wife Janice, sons Gary Sonnenberg and Scott (Jennifer) Sonnenberg, grandsons Michael B. and Patrick W. Sonnenberg of Plain City, brother and sister in law Claude and Joyce Fry of Delaware, Ohio, nieces Janet Lee (Robert) Crawford of Waverly, WV, Cheryl (Bob) Hendrix of Beverly, Ohio, Claudette Fry of Columbus, Juliette (Timothy) Oberle and Lynette Fry of Delaware, Ohio, cousin Holly (Basil) Hedrick of Plain City, and cousins in Vermont and Long Island. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 pm Sunday at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, where funeral service will be held 10 am Monday. Interment Jerome Cemetery.
