Evelyn Harper

Evelyn Lucille Harper, age 92, of Hilliard, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014. Longtime member of Big Darby Baptist Church, graduate of West Jefferson High School Class of 1940, an avid supporter of West Jefferson Rough Riders Athletic Association and founding member Big Darby Scenic River Projects. She was also a member of Hilliard Senior Citizens and West Jefferson Historical Society. Preceded in death by loving husband of 54 years Willis, daughter Carolyn Trenter, parents Walter and Velma (Peterman) Haynes, brothers William, Robert, Donald, Raymond and Ronald Haynes, sisters Helen Smith, Martha Cox, Barbara Cathey, Ida Mae DeLong and Shirley DeLong. Survived by sons David W. (Liz) Harper, Gene (Virginia) Harper, and Charles (Carol) Harper, daughter Janet (Mike) Humphrey, 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, numerous loving relatives and friends. Family will receive friends Saturday 10-12pm at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026. Funeral service will be held 1 pm Saturday at Big Darby Baptist Church, 6921 Plain City-Georgesville Rd., Plain City, OH 43064 with Pastor Rick Godfrey officiating. Interment Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.
