F. Colleen Locke

d. August 31, 2022

Woodstock, Ohio

Frances Colleen Locke, known as Colleen, died on August 31, 2022 at the James Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was the wife of Wilson Fred Locke, and they shared 43 years of marriage together.

Colleen was born in 1950 in Lafe, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Charles and Glenna (William) Rodgers.

Colleen graduated high school from Ritenour Senior High in Missouri and then went on to study as part of the Pioneer class in Mid-America Nazarene College in 1968. She also attended the University of Missouri's Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance.

Colleen and her first husband, Fletcher Tink, were married in 1970 and their daughter Kayla (Tink) Bosworth was born in 1972. They trained and served as missionaries in Bolivia, then went through difficult years which led to their divorce in 1978.

Colleen met Fred Locke in Houston, Texas where they served and were married in 1979.  They continued to serve in various churches in Ohio; Arizona; Florida; and Huntsville, Alabama.

Colleen was passionate about praising her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, which she reflected by leading worship for decades through singing, as well as playing piano and guitar, among demonstrating other musical abilities. She was a worship and choir director for youth and adults for decades. She taught piano and voice to numerous students throughout the years, and had especially valued working at Valley Fellowship Church and Academy in Huntsville, AL.

Colleen, affectionately known as Mimi Colleen, loved crafting, scrapbooking, playing Sequence, Canasta, and was fluent in Spanish.  Everyone that knew Colleen knew that she adored her grandkids.

Colleen is preceded in death by her parents, her mother Glenna and father "Papa Chuck," who passed earlier this year, as well as an infant son, named Andrew.

She is survived by her husband Fred, brother Kevin, sister-in-law Gwen, daughter Kayla, son-in-law Kurt, and grandchildren: Koryn, Wyatt, Ayden Brianna, Bryce, Liliana, Alondra, Kaleb, Brooklynn, Pamela, and Leonardo.
