Faith “Faye” Marshall, 80, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born Sept. 30, 1929 in Madison County, Ohio, the daughter of George and Sylvia Pickens.

Faye was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her family’s needs were always first before her own. She loved gardening, mowing her lawn, watching nature and listening to country music.

She always had time for her grandchildren, whether it was playing with dolls or tractors, or a rowdy game of Ping Pong. Her joy was reflected in their eyes and she will be truly missed by all her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, George, Dave, Ronnie, Don and Harvey Pickens; sisters, Mary Pritchard, Annabelle Ames and Maxine Carter.

Faye is survived by her husband of 63 years, Dean Marshall; sons, Jeff (Susan) Marshall and Dennis (Betty) Marshall; grandchildren, Carrie (Brian) Wallner, Adam Marshall and Sara Marshall; great-grandchildren, Emily Faith and Brennan Wallner; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Pickens, Maxine Pickens and Penny Pickens; special friends, Sherry Fullen and Betsy Sidner; her faithful little dog, Annie.

A Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. Rev. Gordon Ell officiating with the interment following in Bethel Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday, November 13, 2009 from 5 – 8 p.m.
