Floyd Charles Moon, 4 February 2008, at the Sanctuary Tuttle Crossing. Born near Claridon, Ohio, 1908. Resident of Dublin since 1948. Graduate of Marion Harding HS, class of 1926. Attended The Ohio State University, and Northwestern University. Retired Lt Colonel of the Ohio State Highway Patrol (Assistant Superintendent). Held numerous state positions including Director of the Ohio Department of Liquor Control and Vice Chairman of the State Liquor Commission. Member of Masonic Orders: Scottish Rite, Jefferson Lodge (Middletown); and Aladdin Shriners (Columbus). Throughout his event-filled life, Floyd’s touch of human kindness was a comfort to his many friends and family members. Predeceased by wives, Margaret Terrell Moon, 1986, and Mary Heininger Moon, 1992. Survived by son Merlin (Cynthia), grandsons Dean, and Christopher, many nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held 11 am Monday, February, 11, 2008 at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, Ohio. Chaplain Richard Ellsworth officiating. Inurnment at Chapel Mausoleum, Forest Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, family and friends are asked to consider donations to Shriners Hospital for Children, 3229 Burnet Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45229-3095 in Floyd’s memory.
