Floyd A. Wolery, age 87, passed away on March 16, 2019 at Northside Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. Mr. Wolery was born in West Portsmouth, Ohio on July 12, 1931. He is preceded in death by his parents, Oren and Garnet Wolery, and five brothers and two sisters. Floyd is survived by his loving wife, Ruth, and six children Linda (Raymond) Strader, Michaela (Edgar) Zillner, Larry (Jean) Wolery, Patti (Bob) Prentice, Brent (Lori) Seaman, Kelley (Greg) Leonard, ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one sister, Martha Jean (Ray) Keller, and one brother, Bill (Helen) Wolery; and many extended family and friends. Floyd served four years in the U.S. Navy and The Korean War from 1948 to 1952. Floyd graduated from The Ohio State University, and received his master’s degree from The University of Cincinnati with a 3.5 GPA! Floyd taught Industrial Arts at Everett Jr. High School and Eastmoor High School, retiring from teaching in 1984. Floyd had a zest for life and a passion for teaching students. He was a member of the Derby United Methodist Church in Orient, Ohio and was also a member of The American Legion in Portsmouth, Ohio and the VFW and AMVETS in Harrisburg, Ohio. Friends may call Sunday, March 24, 2019 from 2:00-4:00pm at Porter-Tidd Funeral Home, 331 West Main Street, Mt. Sterling, Ohio. A Funeral Service in memory of Floyd will be held on Monday, March 25, 2019 at 1:00pm, at the Porter-Tidd Funeral Home, 331 West Main Street, Mt. Sterling, Ohio, officiated by Pastor Laura Ann R.
