Freda Wessling

Freda Mae Wessling, 81, of Hilliard, passed away Oct. 20 at Carriage Court Assisted Living in Hilliard. She was born Nov. 23, 1932, in Painter Creek, Darke County, Ohio, to John and Inez Morris and married Rolland Wessling on June 8, 1958, in Grace Lutheran Church in Greenville, Ohio. A longtime resident of Greenville, she retired from Rest Haven Nursing Home before the couple moved to Hilliard in 2000. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and the church crochet club. Preceding her in death are her husband; three sisters: Diane Morris and Janice Morris of Painter Creek and Carolyn Meier of Greenville; and one brother, Lowell Morris, of Pitsburg, Ohio. She is survived by three children: Jeanie (Scott) Beisner of Hilliard, Jennifer (Terry) Mikesell of Hilliard and Rolland J. (Vickie) Wessling of Greenville; six grandchildren: Holly (Kyle) Stein, Kelly Beisner, Mackenzie Beisner, Jonathan Mikesell, Matthew Mikesell, and Kiara Wessling; step-grandchildren Travis (Jenny) Jones of Arcanum, Ohio, and Tyler (Shelly) Jones of Honolulu, Hawaii; six step-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Lorene (Tom) McGlinch of Arcanum, Ohio, and Janet (Charles) Sanders of Greenville; and one brother, Larry (Phyllis) Morris of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; a brother-in-law, Robert Wessling of Greenville; a sister-in-law, Blanch Lease of Plain City, and nieces and nephews. A loving mother, she will be missed deeply by family and friends. Services will take place at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, with visitation beginning at 1:30 p.m., at St. James Lutheran Church, 5660 Trabue Rd., Columbus. Interment will take place at St. James cemetery. Donations may be made to St. James or to Vitas Healthcare Hospice.
