Fredenia R. Razey, age 97, died of natural causes on January 9, 2024, in Hilliard, Ohio. Fredenia, who was known as Freddie, by her friends, was born on September 29, 1927 in Springfield, Missouri. She graduated from Pleasant Hope High School in 1945 and received a Merit Award for her accomplishments in music. She then graduated from Springfield College of Commerce having received a scholarship for her scholastic achievements.
Fredenia moved from Missouri to Washington state in 1948, where she met her husband Marion O. Razey. They were married in Ellensburg, Washington on September 30, 1949, and had many happy years together until Marion’s death in 2001. They settled in Harrah, Washington where they lived until they moved to Quincy, Washington in 1959, where Marion enjoyed farming on the Razey farm.
After Marion’s retirement, the couple moved to Bothell and later Port Orchard, Washington, to be close to their daughter and grandson. Freddie and Marion were active in the United Methodist Church. After Marion’s death Freddie joined her daughter in attending the Port Orchard Community Lutheran Church. Fredenia moved to Columbus, Ohio in 2020 to be close to her grandson and great-grandchildren.
Fredenia is survived by her son, Michael Razey, of Hilliard, Ohio, daughter, Barbara Razey-Simmons of Columbus, Ohio, grandson, Ian Andersen, his wife Cas, and great grandchildren, Goldberry and August of Pickerington, Ohio.
All arrangements are under the direction of Tidd Family Funeral Home, Hilliard, Ohio.
