Fredrick Earl Shaw

Fredrick Earl Shaw, age 88, of Columbus, passed away on November 25, 2022. He was born on November 15, 1934, in Columbus, to the late Robert and Mabel (Hannum) Shaw. Fred proudly served our country in the United States Navy and was Honorably Discharged in 1961. Fred was also a member of Maize Manor United Methodist Church in North Columbus. He enjoyed playing and coaching sports throughout his life, but he especially loved golf most of all. He also enjoyed serving as a high school umpire for 28 years as part of the Ohio High School Athletic Association.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, and by his two brothers, Richard and Robert.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Noretta (Gibson) Shaw; Sons Michael and Dennis; Daughter-In-law, Cynthia; and grandchildren, Thomas, Sierra, and Tyler.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 11 from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m., at TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, where Navy Honors will take place at 3 p.m.
