Gary Benkert

Gary Melvin Benkert, age 48, passed away May 8, 2007 after a valiant and courageous battle with brain cancer. Preceded in death by father Charles Benkert. Survived by loving and devoted mother Marybelle Benkert of Cincinnati, brother Kenneth (Diana) Benkert of CO and beloved and dedicated friend Cindy Gerhan. Gary was employed by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services where he had a host of friends, including two very special friends Madeline Ruff and Denise Black. Friends may call 5-7 pm Friday at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH. Burial 11 am Saturday at Crown Hill Memorial Park, Cincinnati, OH. We express deep appreciation to Gary’s health care team, Dr. Aukerman, Dr. Cavaliere, nurse practitioner’s Susan Bell and Myrna Bowler, speech pathologist Julia Gantzer and the brain tumor support group for helping us through this journey.
