Gary W. Pyle

Gary W. Pyle, age 83, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016 at McNaughten Pointe Care Center in Columbus, OH. Born December 25, 1932 in Columbus to the late Ralston and Ethel (Sutherland) Pyle. Graduated from Westerville High School. Proudly served in the U.S. Navy, and retired as a Railroad Conductor from Conrail. He loved to bowl, golf and play softball, and was a huge OSU Buckeye Football Fan. Preceded in death by son, Gary Lee; grandson, Gary; and sister Dolores Briggs. Survived by wife of 62 years, Lillian (Miller); son, Tom Pyle; daughters, Lisa (Don) Purvis and Diana Goebel; special granddaughter, Christina (Bob) Parkey; grandchildren, Tim (Emily) Goebel, Jeff Pyle, Savanah Pyle, Rachel Pyle, Chris Purvis, and James Purvis; special nephew, Steve Grant; numerous great grandchildren; siblings, Larry Pyle, Ernie Pyle and Sharon (Roger) Hixson. Friends may call Monday, February 1, 2016, from 9 until time of funeral at 11 a.m. at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St. in Hilliard, OH. Pastor Danny Vanscoy officiating.
