Gary A. Tolhurst

Gary A. Tolhurst, age 69, of Powell, Ohio, originally from Cleveland, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus. Born in Cleveland to the late Helen and Kenneth Tolhurst, Gary was a graduate of Lakewood High School, Class of 1966 and attained his Bachelor of Science, Chemistry degree from Heidelberg University in 1970. Gary retired from Ashland Chemical in 2014 after nearly 40 years of service. He was a volunteer reserve peace officer with the Dublin Police Department for many years. He loved to scuba dive and play golf and was a long-time, loyal Cleveland Indians fan. Gary is survived by his daughters Jennifer Tolhurst of Cleveland and Katherine (Brian) Deppong of Dearborn, MI; his sister Carolyn (Henry) Gabriel of North Olmsted, OH, and his cousin Janice Driesbach of Akron, OH.
