Gene B. Henkelmann, age 82, of London, Ohio, a native of Mt. Sterling, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Court House Manor in Washington Court House, Ohio. Born to the late Earl and Mary Henkelmann, Gene was a graduate of Madison Mills High School, Class of 1954. He retired as a Dispatcher with the Mt. Sterling Police Department and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. He was a member of the London United Methodist Church. Gene is survived by his cousins: Judy and Kenneth J. Kelly of Bloomingburg, OH, Megan (Scott) Batson of Mt. Sterling, Erica (Scott) Cormany of Chillicothe, OH, Tania (Thad) Schlichter of Washington Court House, Jessica (Zach) Six of Washington Court House, Kyler & Kaden Batson, Ava Cormany, Tori & Tobin Schlichter, Kenley & Cali Six, special friend Heather Nagy of Monsoon, MA, and his many friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00a.m.-12:00p.m. MONDAY, JUNE 18, 2018 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 West Main Street, Mt. Sterling, OH 43143 (740)-869-2777 where his Funeral Service will follow the visitation and begin at 12:00 Noon on MONDAY. Lt. Dr. Teena Gallagher, Chaplain will officiate the service.
