Gene Preston Singleton

Gene Preston Singleton was a teacher until the end. His passion was his students and the world of the written word. Gene was brought into the world on October 29, 1935 in Ashland, KY and entered the Kingdom of the Lord on Thursday, December 29, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents Francis and Russell and nine brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife Patty (Conklin/Walker), daughter Kimberly Schwinn and four grandchildren Gary Schwinn, Ryan (Taylor) Neiswender, Matthew Neiswender and Jennifer (Rusty) Simpson, niece Donna Baker, great-niece Karen (Robert) Rhoton, and numerous nieces and nephews, stepdaughters Laura (Ed) Roberts, Ruth (Jesse) Walker, Beth (Steve) Seipel, grandchildren Nichole (Ben) Adler, Adam Roberts, Emily Snyder and Noah Seipel, and his beloved little black dog McDougal “Doogie”. Funeral Service will be held 11:00a.m. MONDAY, JANUARY 2, 2017 at ST. PAUL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 55 Pasadena Avenue, Columbus, OH 43228 (614)-878-4715 with Pastor Bill McKee, officiating. Burial with Military Honors will immediately follow the service at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, OH. After the burial service, the family will return to the church to greet family and friends.
