George H. Barnes, age 80, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2017 at the Laurels of Hilliard. He was born November 8, 1936 in Nashville, TN to the late Albert and Margaret Barnes. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a helicopter mechanic and a member of the Honor Guard. He enjoyed his annual golf trips with his family to Twin Falls State Park in WV, working with his hands, cheering for the University of Tennessee, and bragging about his "perfect credit score." Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gene Barnes; grandson, Jesse Barnes; son-in-law, Cevin Clark. Survived by loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Billie Barnes; children, Al (Lee Anne) Barnes and Karen Clark; grandchildren, Matthew, David, Lynne, Elizabeth, Zach and Macie; great granddaughters, Megan and Rebecca; siblings, Elaine Wilber, Patti (John) Asay, and Earl (Cathy) Barnes; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Friends may call Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 4 p.m. until time of memorial service at 6 p.m. at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St. in Hilliard, OH.
