George E. Mason, Sr.

George E. Mason, Sr., age 81, of Prospect, Ohio, formerly a long-time resident of Shawnee Hills, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, January 25, 2018. George was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked for Immke-Sandoval Buick-GMC for 35+ years. George pastored Shawnee Hills Community Church for 38 years and most recently attended Christ the King Community Church in Fredericktown, Ohio. He was the former Mayor of Shawnee Hills and served on the village council. He was very active in many aspects of the Shawnee Hills community. George was preceded in death by his parents Perry Mason and Stella Mason Sarchett, his brothers Thomas Carl Mason, Leonard Mason, Sr., Clarence Fitzpatrick and Jimmy Farber. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Juanita Mason of Prospect, his children: George "Eddie" (Becky) Mason, Jr. of Jasper, GA, Curtis Mason of Grove City, OH,Greg (Starla) Mason of Hilliard, Valerie (Mike) Hush of Columbus and Sarah Mason of Prospect; grandchildren: Kelly (Ian) Dort, Amy (Kyle) McCoy, Kristina (Tyler Wilson) Mason, Jared (Sarah) Mason, Amber (Brad) Bogenrife, Hilary (Johnny) Kosik, Lisa Hush, Matt (Shawna) Hush, Bobby Hush, Rodney Hush and Sabrina Hush; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters: Annabelle (Herman) Fredrickson of Raisin, CA, Elizabeth Beck of Lima, OH, Doris C. Rollins of Chillicothe, OH and their families. Sister-in-law Mintie (Bill) Shope of Pedro, OH, "unofficially adopted" daughters Christine Zaragoza and Shirley Greenwell, and many other loving family members and friends. Family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00p.m. MONDAY at the HAYDEN ENTERPRISE BAPTIST CHURCH, 6729 Hayden Run Road, Hilliard, OH 43026 where his Funeral Service will be held at 11:00a.m. TUESDAY, JANUARY 30, 2018 with Pastor Lucian Baker, officiating. Burial will follow at Kingwood Memorial Park, Lewis Center, OH.
