Geraldine Rathbun

Geraldine A. “Gerry” (Wahl) Rathbun, age 74, Columbus, Ohio, passed away
peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, November 21, 2015. She was preceded in
death by her loving husband, Bob, in 2001 after 25 years of marriage. Born
November 29, 1940 in Sandusky, Ohio, to the late Carl and Elizabeth (Arheit)
Wahl, she is survived by sisters, Arlene (Bob) Schriner, Findlay, Ohio, and
Jeanette (Pravin) Gandhi, Ashburn, VA; and brother, George (Jane) Wahl,
Columbus, Ohio and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. A
resident of Columbus for the past 56 years, Gerry moved from Pickerington to
Mayfair Village upon her retirement from JCPenney in 2008. There, she quickly
made many friends and was well known to the staff and to her friends as a kind,
caring person. She had a lifelong place in her heart for all animals, and one of
her daily pleasures while a resident at Mayfair was feeding the ducks that lived
on a nearby pond. She lived an active lifestyle until just before her death,
walking and swimming, and participating in many social activities and outings
with her Mayfair Village friends. A private memorial service will be held at a
later date at Mayfair Village.
