Gerry Southerland

Gerry Southerland, age 75, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, August 6.  He was born on November, 16, 1948, in danville, Kentucky, to the late Juanita (Ritchie) Kennedy and William Lee Southerland.

Gerry was good at just about anything he put his mind to, he was an amazing welder, stonemason, one hell of a pool player, and always told the best dad jokes.  If you knew him, you know how ornery he was, the purest soul who left a mark on everyone he came across, a humble, powerful man who will be carried on, and remembered for many generations.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn (Carpenter) Southerland, parents, William Lee Southerland and Juanita (Ritchie) Kennedy (Randy), siblings, Larry, Brenda and Linda, children, Gerry Lee Southerland Jr., Matthew Southerland and Gerry Lee Southerland II (Pac), grandson, Reb Barbee, and granddaughter, Angel Barbee.

Gerry is survived by his daughter, Juanita (Sissy) Southerland, his brothers, Denny and Anthony Southerland, sister, Sandy Southerland, grandchildren, savannah (Christian) Overfield and Chayna Carswell, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends who became family.  

The family will be receiving friends for visitation and funeral service on Friday, August 9, at the Tidd Family Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, Ohio, 43026 beginning at 2:00 and ending at 4:00 for the funeral service to begin.
