Glenn Hedge, age 89, of Dublin, OH, formerly of Canfield, OH, passed away September 22, 2011 after a prolonged illness. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. Retired from Ohio Bell after 39 years. WWII Army Veteran, serving in North Africa, Italy, Sicily, and The Anzio Invasion; receiving the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his services. Member of Troop #25 in Canfield, where he and his two brothers Jim and Franklyn received their Eagle Scout awards at the same time, American Legion Post #177 and Dublin Grange at Canfield. He was also a member of Northwest United Methodist Church and the Telephone Pioneers; where he devoted much time after retirement. Preceded in death by parents J.C. and Marie Hedge, brothers Jim and Franklyn Hedge and great grandson Hunter Jackson. Survived by loving wife of 64 years, Shirley (Helmick) Hedge, sons Timothy (Susan) Hedge, David (Beverly) Hedge, Matthew (Diane) Hedge and Randy Hedge, sisters Donna Beery and Eileen Groves, grandchildren Adam, Nicole (Brandon), Nathan, James (Elizabeth) Gray, Jr. and Tami Weikel, great grandchildren Logan, Sarah, Larina, Kelsey, Hayden and Courtney, along with numerous nieces, nephews, loving relatives and friends. Visitation will be held 2-4 pm Sunday at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH; where funeral service will be held 11 am Monday with Pastor Tom Slack officiating. Graveside service will be held 11 am Tuesday at Canfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Northwest United Methodist Church, 5200 Riverside Dr., Columbus OH 43220 or Heartland Hospice, 6500 Busch Blvd., Suite 210, Columbus, OH 43229.
