CARSON Grace Opal Carson, age 76, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 16, 2009 at the OSU Medical Center in Columbus, OH. She was born January 23, 1933 in Cynthiana, Ohio. She was the daughter of Earl and Goldie (Bauman) Robson.
She married Elmer Franklin Carson, Jr September 9, 1950.
Owner & Operator of Grace’s Beauty Shop in London ( a beautician of 30 years); Past Matron of Sterling Chapter #74, O.E.S.
She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer, parents, infant sister, brother-in-laws, Charles Burgess and Harold Lambert, Ronald Matthews, and an infant great grandchild.
She is survived by five children David (Earline) Carson of Mt. Sterling, Shirley (Virgil) Green of South Vienna, Stephan (Debra) Carson of South Solon, Cheryl Dennehy of Lancaster, and Emma Jean (Dale) Work of London; 12 grandchildren, Nathan Green, Christopher, Timothy and Elmer III Carson, Dale and Daniel Miller, Gary and Jeremy Payne, Nicole Wright, Annette Adams, Robert and Elizabeth Dennehy; 2 step-grandchildren, Barbara Dixon and Stephanie Noel; 37 great grandchildren; sister, Eileen Burgess of Texas; 2 sister-in-laws Charlotte Matthews of Columbus, and Barbara Carson of Circleville; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 21, 2009 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. Rev. Gordon Ell officiating with the interment following in Sedalia Cemetery. A visitation will be Sunday, December 20, 2009 from 2 – 5 p.m.
Beginning at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Star Services will be given in honor of Grace.
