Greg Goad

Greg Goad, age 73, was welcomed into Heaven on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. He passed away suddenly at home. He was born February 11, 1950 in Bonne Terre, MO to the late Clyde Reed and Marilyn Akers Goad. He moved to St. Louis as a youngster staying until 1985 when he made Columbus his home. We were blessed to have celebrated him for his 73^rd birthday. Greg is survived by his wife Kitty McCloy Goad. He was a doting father to DeeDee (Buck) Henry and Shelley (Phil) Ennis whom he parented with Joan Goad. Greg was an adoring Papa to Rachel and Derek Henry and Ryan and Justin Ennis. He also leaves behind his two brothers Keith (Anke) and Mike Goad. Greg will be missed by countless extended family members and friends. “We always said ‘You can take the boy out of the truck but you cannot take the truck out of the boy’”. For 34 years, Greg drove for Yellow Freight System. A job he loved and continued to support through his lifetime serving on the Columbus Ohio Committee to Protect Pensions and by being involved with the Columbus Teamsters Union Retiree Club, Local 413. Greg never knew a stranger and people were drawn to him by his cheerful demeanor and genuine warmth. Greg loved his best friends Neal and Bev Shaffer. They dined together, shared game nights together and celebrated life together for three decades. Greg was happiest visiting his family and friends and attending Northwest Bible Church. Going to the movies, going to concerts and the theater, dining out and attending his grandkid’s sports events were always on his social calendar.

Family will receive friends from 12:00p.m.-3:00p.m. on SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 2023 at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich Street, Hilliard, OH 43026 (614)-876-1722 where his Funeral Service will be held at 3:00p.m. SUNDAY with Reverend Keith Goad, Greg’s brother, officiating. Private family burial will be held later at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, Ohio.
