Gretchen Kern

Gretchen G. Kern, age 98, born October 6, 1908 in Nebraska, died March 19, 2007 at Westminster Thurber Community Health Center, Columbus, OH. She served as an accountant and retired from Columbus Belting and Supply Co. The simplicity of grace and wisdom that she personified will be forever remembered by those whose lives she touched. She is preceded in death by husband John P. Kern. She is survived by daughter and son in law, Madelyn and Jeff deRoche, whom she lived with for 9 years, grandchildren Elizabeth and John deRoche of CO, great grandchildren Nick and Joe and nephew David Hart. Friends may call 6-8 pm Thursday at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard. Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 am Friday at Saints Simon and Jude Catholic Church, 9350 High Free Pike, West Jefferson, OH 43162. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
